Where’s the Beef?

My wife Helen, was just informing me that on the news they were talking about how beef should drop in price because cattle farmers are having a hard time selling their stock. As an alternative many cattle farmers are selling their stock for meat production. In the short term this will drop the price of beef. Then again, in the long run it may have repercussions.  The repercussions will come next year because of scarce herd supply will force consumers to dig even deeper into our wallets.

Thinking of going vegetarian?

Think again… because of this heat wave that most of The United States, has been enduring for the last 2 or 3 months is shriveling most of the crops, except for tomatoes. All of this heat  has dried up creeks, crops and not to mention the hay shortage one of the reasons why farmers and ranchers are selling off their live stock.

All of this compounded means more money out of our pockets.

Is This “Signs Of the Times Or Judgement” For America?

One of my favorite authors and revivalist Leonard Ravenhill, in his book “America is too Young to Die” stated, and I am paraphrasing that America is the youngest of Nations, in the world. It is a babe, compared to ancient civilizations.  Yet, she is dying today. She will be dead tomorrow, if America does not have a spiritual awakening soon.

Abraham Lincoln stated, “at what point then, is the approach of danger to be expected? If it ever reaches us, it must spring up among us. It cannot come from abroad. IF destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher; As a Nation of freemen, we must live through all time or die by suicide”. 

Over 100 years ago, Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt, said, again I am paraphrasing, from his speech Apostles of Folly and Fatuity, the things that will destroy America, are prosperity at any price, peace at any price, safety first instead of duty first, love of soft living and the get rich quick theory of life.

America, is dying from the same disease that has killed all other civilizations; Sexual immorality, greed, lust  and the list goes on. But the biggest sin America faces today, and the one sin that will put the final nail in her coffin, is breaking the first commandment.

In God We Trust

For over 40 years, there have been those who want to eradicate Christianity. Our Government took away prayer in school, upholding a Marxist law, separation of church and state, then passing the law to legalize abortion, how many prophets have we killed since that law was passed? Next, I understand, that there are some in the Government that want to remove “In God We Trust”, from our currency.  After they succeed, the corner churches might be next on the firing line.

Is this signs of the times or Judgement for America? In my opinion, I think it is signs of the times and not Gods judgement on America. we are living in a new disposition, of Gods Grace and not under the law. However, I am not a bible scholar either, and many scholars are calling what is happening in America as “judgement of God”. Either way, I believe if America doesn’t have a revival soon, ( and I am going to barrow a phrase coined by Leonard Ravenhill), God might have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah.
