Have you Ever Saw a Christian?

Just the other day, I felt a divine discontent in my spirit. It wasn’t a call to intercessory prayer. when I receive the call to an emergency prayer session in the spirit it is more of a heavy weight on my heart, a burden that only groaning’s that can’t be uttered will relieve, no this was different, as if the Holy Spirit, was trying to get a message across to me. I did not understand.

So, I did what I normally do, I just went about my daily business, praying as I worked. The scriptures declare to pray continually I Thessalonians 5:17. This is the key to staying in an atmosphere of prayer. I also believe that “Continual Prayer”, or “Always Praying” is a greater work, as Jesus, mentioned in the Gospel of John 14:12.

Around 3PM, my mother-in-law, Rev. Carol Arvin, called. She was very excited and wanted to talk with my wife Helen, (Carols daughter). Helen couldn’t take her call because she was having a meeting with a web designer trying to get the finishing touches of a local Realtor’s web site live.

Carol didn’t have much time to talk. She was going to dinner with her brother and once he arrived they were leaving. She was trying desperately to catch her breath and didn’t want to tell me what it was. The only thing she said was that she had a vision from God and it was glorious. I didn’t push to have carol tell me what it was, it wasn’t for me but for my wife. A few minutes later, Helen called her back and Carol said that she saw Helen completely healed and that it was going to come soon.We praised God with her, then she had to go. My spirit man was still in discontent.

It was around 5PM I saw a car drive up and a tall plump elderly man came up to my door.  His face was radiated like the noon day sun was on him. I knew immediately that this man was a Christian, a brother in Christ. He was looking for Gott cemetery and needed directions. I gave him the directions and he went on his way. As I closed the door the Lord Immediately spoke to my spirit, “That is how you will know a brother or sister in Me. My sheep”. The Lord got through to me with an object lesson. The discontent in my spirit had left as if it had never been there.

Have you ever saw a Christian?

Through this object lesson the Holy Spirit, gave me spiritual sight in order to discern what a Christian looks like. Mid-evil paintings of Jesus Christ and saints alike, the artist would paint a halo above their heads. This way people looking at the painting would immediately know that they were looking at a Christian painting.  I have seen many paintings of the last supper where Jesus had a large halo above his head and the rest of the disciples except for Judas Iscariot, the disciple that betrayed Jesus, all had smaller halo’s above their head.

Through prayer the Holy Spirit, told me that in the early Church, brothers and sisters in Christ were identified much in this same way. When Saul of Tarsus (Paul), just after his encounter with our Lord Jesus, (See Acts 9:1-22) He was told to continue to the city of Damascus, and there wait. When Saul opened his eye’s he saw not and was led by the band of men that was with him. For 3 days and nights a full 72 hours Paul was blind and did not eat or drink, but waited upon the Lord by Payer and fasting.

And he said…  Brother

Now I want you to see what the Holy Spirit is showing me through this scripture:

Acts 9:17 And Ananias departed, and entered into the house; and laying his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, [even] Jesus, who appeared unto thee in the way which thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mayest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Spirit. 18 And straightway there fell from his eyes as it were scales, and he received his sight; and he arose and was baptized;

This is important, when I watch as the man walk to my door, the first thing that entered into my conscience mind after I saw the glow on his face was “brother”. The Lord has showed me with confirmation from his word, this is how those who are spiritually in tune with the Spirit of God, and his word will know without a shadow of a doubt, a brother or sister in Christ.

I have shared all of this because we are living in dark and dangerous times, and the church is will be persecuted and will have to worship in secret, much like the early church in the book of Acts. It is closer than you think. Now is the time to get yourself in tuned with what the Spirit of God, is saying to the Church.

Thank you.
