A Memorial of Memories

Scripture reference: Joel 3:10

“Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong”.

There have been two major wars fought on America’s soil. The first was the Revolutionary war and the second was the Civil war. The first war was fought for “liberation” from the oppression of England.

The second “Independence” from the United States, mainly because eleven Southern States did not want to abolish slavery. Although there were many other issues.

There have and always will until the millennial reign of Christ, be wars and rumors of war. However, there is one war coming maybe, in the not so distant future, that will make all other wars minimalistic in comparison.

And that war is going to be fought at Megiddo, called the battle of Armageddon (Rev. 19:15).

“Beat your plowshares into swords and your pruning hooks into spears: let the weak say, I am strong”.

The first portion of Joel 3:10, is a cry to prepare for war.

Memorial day is more than just barbeque’s and a good time. It is a time of honoring those whom gave their lives and served our country in order to protect our freedoms that we so enjoy.

It is also a time of reflection. Honoring the memories of our friends and family members that have left this Earthly world for a new life with Christ in Heaven.
