This just In: The Church Is a defeated Weakling
The world in general seems to view Christianity or the Church of Jesus Christ, as weak and defeated. You just have to look to the latest news stories involving the Muslims protest against an American video mocking there prophet in Egypt and Libya.
It didn’t help matters much when the American Government blamed the terrorist attack on our Embassy in Benghazi, on this anti-Muslim video.
As a matter of fact, the blame shifting about this video endangered all of those involved in the film. Some even went into hiding because of it.
Then after this the media starting belittling Christians and mocking the Church (didn’t matter which denomination), even the late shows were making fun of Christianity.
Why does the news media mock Christianity and see her as defeated?
The short answer to this question is how the world views Christianity and they view her as weak and defeated. In their narrow view Christians will not rise up and protest like the Muslims. For the longer answer to this question, just check out this post from before it is news Click here.

How does a defeated weak Church affect you?
There are 3 points of view about the Church and it is not from a world perspective, it is from a Christian perspective.
- A militant church: A body of believers that see themselves as fighting a foe (the devil) that hasn’t been defeated yet.
- A defeated Church: A body of believers that is ignorant of their position in Christ. They haven’t used or don’t believe what the Bible says about the Churches authority that they poses on this Earth through Christ.
- Then there is the Triumphant Church, these body of believers know that they are seated with Christ, above all powers and principalities (Ephesians 1:3 & 2:6). The Triumphant Church, is the biblical perspective of the Body of Christ, who not only know but exercises Christ’s authority on the Earth and therefore reign victoriously in life through Jesus Christ, over a defeated enemy the devil and his minion (Romans 5:17).
From what you have just read I encourage you to give us your point of view in this area of spiritual warfare. How does a defeated weak Church affect you? Leave your comment below.
The Church is triumphant because Christ Christ defeated the enemy on the cross! We must still be prepared to kill sin when it raises its ugly head, which it does often. The final enemy – death – will be defeated at Christ's second return.
Amen Daniel, I totally agree with your viewpoint. Jesus himself said that in this world we would have many troubles. In Christ we are more than conquerors, it is just too bad that the worldview of Christianity is that of a defeated weak church.
P.S. Also check out your new blog and I really like it. The layout is great and easy to look at.
Thanks William
Good Friday marks the day Christians worldwide observe the closing moments of Jesus’ life. According to the Gospels, he was condemned, tried, and put to death on a cross (crucified) on this day almost 2,000 years ago. The day is observed with somber ceremonies in many churches. Often altars, pulpits, candelabra, and other church furniture or ornaments are shrouded with black or dark cloth.
We can’t win unless we recognize that what we are seeing happen to America is part of a divine judgment of those who were given so much, who were so blessed by God, yet turned our collective backs on Him. … Our nation is literally imploding morally and spiritually. Every man and woman does what’s right in his own eyes. The church is asleep.
While we as Christians respond faithfully to the call to proclaim the gospel in all places, we can never presume to know the full extent of God’s work in the world, and we recognize the reality of God’s activity outside the Christian church. It is central to our faith that salvation is accomplished not by human beings, but by God. We know that judgment as to the ultimate salvation of persons from any faith community, including Christianity and Judaism, belongs to God alone.
