For as long as I can remember I have heard preachers refer to the Christians as the “Bride of Christ, and the Body of Christ. Every time these ministers of the Gospel try to explain their position on this subject of the bride they always seem to be in confusion which forces their congregation to be in confusion. Many congregates do not “study to show themselves approved unto God,” instead they take what the man or woman of God preaches as fact.
This is a dangerous proposition for any believer of Jesus Christ.

Is the Church the Bride of Christ?
Since the dawn of Man the devil has tried hard to keep people in confusion, especially when it comes to the word of God. You can see this in the book Genesis 3:4-5, when the devil deceived Eve into eating the forbidden fruit by twisting Gods own words. We also see this again when Jesus was tempted in the wilderness Matt. chapter four.
We don’t have to look very far to see how the devil tries to confuse man. All we have to do is look at the PC culture and see how they try to frame gender by trying to force the change of how we view gender.
From my own study I have found that viewing the Church or any of the redemed through out the history of mankind, from the old or new testament as to the subject of being the Bride of Christ, is not normal and is actually not scriptural to do so.
Let’s start with what the Bible tells us about the bride of Christ and the Lambs wife.
What is the bride of Christ?
The book of Revelations 21: 2,9 & 10 gives us all the information we need to know about the true Bride of Christ.
• V.2 we read: I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. This is a vision that John saw of new Jerusalem, which takes place after the Millenual reign of Christ. Then in Johns vision we hear from one of the angels say to John…
• V.9 – One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.” Here one of the Angels are going to show John what the bride of Christ is.
V. 10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. From this description of the Holy City, new Jerusalem, we can confirm in the voice of three witnesses that the bride of Christ, the Lambs wife is the that city.
As you can see from scripture alone that the Church is not the bride of Christ. Don’t let the devil keep you deceived any longer and don’t just take my word for it, study this out yourself.
We can also conclude from just those three verses of scripture…
The bride of Christ is not…
- Isreael of the O.T.
- Part of the N.T. church
- It is not the 144,000 jewish evangelist
- or the Tribulation saints
- It is not any one individual, denomination(s) or special group written about in the bible.
The Bride of Christ as you just found out is actually the New Jerusalem. The Holy City, that you and I and all the redeemed are citizens of and will live in after the millennial reign of Christ.
